Well, you know, that’s preposterous… or they say ‘it’s not necessary’. As if that should stop one doing it! It’s not necessary to have coloured socks, it’s not necessary for this cushion to be here, but is anyone going to write in and say ‘I was shocked to see that cushion there, it really wasn’t necessary’? No, things not being necessary is what makes life interesting -the little extras in life.”

sidebar: my dog, Stella, is named after Estella, the girl about whom the quote on the back of this divine clutch - ” i loved her simply because i found her irresistible” - is written (that i also love). sorry to disappoint, no, she is not actually named after the beer or the designer of the other famous character with her namesake - though it is fun to yell ‘Sttteeelllllaaaaa!’ when she runs away. not that she ever runs away.
